Byredo Releases New Tattoo Ink Fragrance

5 Oct

This sounds incredibly corny, but according to Refinery 29, it’s not. And I’m really not mad at this scent in theory, either. Swedish perfumery brand Byredo took an unpredictable turn by announcing the launch of their new “ink-inspired” fragrance, M/MINK.  The unisex fragrance is a collaboration between Byredo’s creative director, Ben Gorman, and French creatives, M/M Paris, and will be available later this year.

Byredo garnered inspiration from Korean ink — which bears a similar scent to conventional tattoo ink — an image of Japanese calligraphy, and an M/M ink drawing, resulting in a “strong, more darkly exotic than expected” blend of patchouli leaf, amber, and clover honey with stone-scented undertones.
