Lupe Fiasco’s Japanese Cartoon x 13th Witness

15 Oct

Japanese Cartoon, Lupe Fiasco’s latest project blending punk rock and electro, released their first video yesterday for single “Heirplanes” off their first album In the Jaws of the Lords of Death.  Directed by 13th Witness and executive produced by Sky Gellaty, “Heirplanes” delivers suspense and creep value reminiscent of classic ’80s slasher horror flicks. And who better to play the sweet co-ed victim than Sarah McSweeney, younger sister to Married to the M.O.B.’s founder and CEO Leah McSweeney and poster girl of the streetwear label.

“I want my music to sound like somebody chasing you through the forest with ax. That’s what I want my music to sound like. Like somebody chasing you through the woods with a chainsaw,” Lupe Fiasco recently told the press in a rather longwinded statement on Japanese Cartoon. If you haven’t had the chance to hear the rest of In the Jaws of the Lords of Death, I highly recommend doing so by clicking here.
