The always-innovative girls over at 2BitchezDeep never sleep, and this twitpic tweeted earlier today proves they’re already on their game for 2011. Looks pretty dope — can’t wait to see the final product!

M.A.C. Unveils Winter & Spring ’11 Collections

31 Dec

Cosmetics company M.A.C. has released its three new collections, Winter 2011’s jewel-toned Peacocky and Spring 2011’s denim-inspired Jeanius. (paging Jean Grae x 9th Wonder!)

Peacocky, obviously inspired by the rich colors of the peacock’s showy display, includes “a foray of intense colour for Lips and Eyes,” in M.A.C.’s new nourishing liquid lipstick hybrid Kissable Lipcolors and vitamin-fortified, crease-resistant Mega Metal Shadows. The collectible set will be available January 6th through mid February.

Jeanius, a charming collection includes denim-embossed eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip-glosses, and nail colors inspired by the world’s most pervasive fabric. Each color is pearlescent containing metallic flecks of gold, copper, silver, and pink making these new hues extremely wearable and flattering for any skin tone. I’m particularly taken with the “Biker Blue” nail laquer featuring a black base combined with purple and blue flecks, as well as its mate “Frayed-To-Order,” a white matte with pink pearl flecks.

31 Dec

London-based Ghanian jewelry designer Anita Quansah has released “Tribal Glamour,” her latest collection of absolutely stunning wearable art pieces for Spring/Summer 2011. Using Ghana’s traditional tribalwear designs and materials, including copal (semiprecious stones derived from petrified tree resin), milky amber red coral, turquoise, and lapis lazuli, Quansah weaves next season’s most popular color palates into this gorgeous line while paying homage to her roots.

Say It With Your Feet: Massimo Dogana F-U Heels

31 Dec

Maybe 2010 wasn’t so great after all. With the year jump-off Haiti disaster, Gulf Coast oil spill, loss of Alexander McQueen and J.D. Salinger, and everybody’s general broke status, I’d like to say a big “F-U” to 2010. HighSnobette tipped me off to these amazing designs from shoe god Massimo Dogana in bootie- and sandal-heel form, that allow you to say it like you mean it — with your feet. Ahh, therapeutic. You can scoop these babies for a cool $1,095 (yikes!) here. I’d love to see a Massimo Dogana x Cee-Lo collaboration in the future…

Kim Kardashian Closes 2010 with Cornrows & Braids

31 Dec

Kim K was spotted coming out of an LA gym yesterday rocking cornrows, full braids, and a highly desirable black Birken bag. The 2010 reality supernova star is burning down the Internets with her year-end 10 look. One can only speculate her surprising new style stems from the music video she’s been rumored to be shooting with Kanye West. I’m curious to see if and how she’ll incorporate this into her NYE look.

Update: Rihanna x Topshop Rumors Come to a Close

30 Dec

According to Women’s Wear Daily, Rihanna’s dinner date in Barbados earlier this week with Topshop owner Sir Phillip Green, Simon Cowell, and Universal Music chief Lucian Grainge was “purely social,” quashing whispers and murmurs of a possible collaboration between the star and UK clothing line.

Hmm, I’m skeptical of this considering Kate Moss’s quiet exit from Topshop and Rihanna’s media-magnet fashions sense. Plus I was really looking forward to Rihanna x Topshop control-top pantyhose…
